About

"Hand stitched, hand held, born and raised in Scotland."

Judith’s love for design has spanned across years, continents and milestones – including the birth of her three beautiful boys; Kieran, Kyle and Jaden. Her creative journey first began with ceramics before she took an interest in Scottish textiles. After returning to study and achieving her BA in design she started “Just Judith Design” from a caravan in her garden.

Fast forward a couple of years Judith has been fortunate enough to have had studio space in wasps in Dundee, the enterprise zone in Dundee College and now after moving her studio home in lockdown she works from her studio in the garden. continuing to Design and create pictures of local landmarks before printing her designs on to products for the tourist industry and gift market.  Harris Tweed has always played a big part in Judith's creative journey from featuring in her picture designs to patch work on her bags, purses, brooches, book covers and dolls clothing.  Working with a Harris Tweed Tailor, Judith gives new life to remnants that would normally be thrown out, ensuring Zero Waste. Recently Judith has been exploring a new collection in ceramics after acquiring an electric kiln and is looking forward to showcasing her new designs.

Judith continues to teach classes from her studio in the garden, offering lots of different crafts from sewing, painting and weaving to pottery, its really important to Judith to offer affordable classes after studies have shown how poor mental health has become over the recent pandemic. Craft can alleviate the symptoms of anxiety, depression, loneliness and even dementia, according to research, she is hoping that it will make a small difference to her surrounding community.

There is also craft and chat afternoons, where you can bring your own craft and chat to like minded crafters over a cuppa and biscuit.
